Estonia Post has announced the international public procurement for acquisition of automated parcel terminals. The Post’s aim is “to purchase within the frame of public procurement in the form of negotiated procedures a complex technology solution”.

Estonian Post launched a pilot project to test parcel terminal in June, the first machine was installed in downtown Tallinn, Viru Centre. The pilot project received positive feedback from customers and partners.

“The company plans to install parcel terminals to most visited locations over Estonia, so that they can be used 24 hours a day”, said Estonian Post Board member Aavo Kärmas.

Self service parcel terminals will be introduced primarily in Estonia and later in Latvia and Lithuania.

“We want to offer customers all delivery channels – courier, post office and automated terminals”, added Kärmas.

As a result of public procurement, Estonian Post will look to sign a five-year contract with the successful bidder.

Application for participation in the tender procedures, together with qualification documentation must be submitted no later than 24 September.
