local letterbox partners with Norbert Dentressangle

local letterbox, the new parcel delivery service, has announced that they will be working with Norbert Dentressangle Transport and Distribution UK, to supply logistics and infrastructure support when they launch their network of parcel shops and parcelpods™ later this year.
local letterbox is set to be a dedicated network of parcel shops and parcelpods™ in the UK, offering customers a way to collect, return and send their parcels, irrespective of where they shop. local letterbox parcel shops and parcelpods™ will have their own fully-trained staff who will be on hand to assist customers with their deliveries and returns.

Additionally every parcel shop and parcelpod™ will have its own changing room, allowing customers to try on their purchases there and then and return them straight away should they wish. Norbert Dentressangle will be supporting the development of both the transport and sort centre requirements.

Commenting on the partnership, Peter Strang from Norbert Dentressangle said:

“As a leading logistics provider, Norbert Dentressangle recognises that local letterbox’s service fills a gap in the market, and will be a welcome addition to the eRetailers offering.”

With its own delivery logistics partner, local letterbox will be open to everyone regardless of where they choose to shop online and there will be no additional charge to the customer over and above the retailers’ own P&P charges for them to use the parcel shops and parcelpods™.

Fully tracked delivery via local letterbox will be a flat rate of £2.99 for all parcels weighing up to 20kgs. Commenting on this pricing, Zoë Ombler from local letterbox said:

“Customers will be able to pick up and return parcels via local letterbox at no extra cost. If the retailer offers them free delivery and returns, they will get free delivery and returns with us too.

“Customers can also use local letterbox to send their own parcels fully tracked for just £2.99; a great new and convenient option for all the eBay customers and marketplace vendors out there!”

local letterbox will be opening a minimum of 500 parcelpods™ throughout the UK by the end of this year. All parcel shops and parcelpods™ will be situated in convenient locations such as supermarkets and gyms through to universities, convenience stores and railway stations and will be open a minimum of six days a week from 6am – 9pm, with some open much longer in high footfall areas.
