Some more headlines from the courier, express and parcels industry around the world, with US regional carrier OnTrac expanding, Aramex extending e-commerce connectivity and DHL launching a sales campaign in Japan.
In Time joins Eurodis network
Austrian Post’s Czech courier business In Time has officially joined the European parcel and pallets network Eurodis.
The company has been working with Eurodis since earlier this year, but has now signed a partnership contract to join Austrian Post’s trans-o-flex business within the Eurodis network. Austrian Post board member Peter Umundum, who is currently Eurodis chairman, said: “The entry of In Time into the Eurodis network is a further, important step to strengthen the Eurodis network in Eastern Europe.”
The Eurodis network currently covers 34 European countries. Carsten Siebe, Eurodis managing director, said of In Time’s joining: “The Czech Republic is a Central Eastern Europe market with a high business potential for Eurodis members. In Time has proved since the start that they are a reliable, high performing member.”
OnTrac moving to larger HQ
US regional overnight package delivery company OnTrac is moving to a larger corporate headquarters this October, it has announced.
The company offering delivery services across eight western US states has been based near Phoenix Sky Habor International Airport for more than a decade, but will move to a new facility in the suburbs. The new building near Gila River Memorial Airport in Chandler, Arizona, will offer 65,000 square feet of space as the company grows staff numbers from the current 200 over the next 11 years.
“We’ve begun construction and will spend in excess of five million dollars on the relocation of our Corporate Headquarters,” said Rob Humphrey, President of OnTrac. “And, we expect to bring more than 850 jobs to the City of Chandler over the term of the lease.”
DHL Express mounts sales campaign in Japan
DHL Express is offering its customers in Japan the chance to win prizes including Formula One tickets, luxury hotel stays and restaurant vouchers.
The campaign dubbed “DHL Chance! Chance! Chance!” runs until 30th November, 2013. Customers will be given three chances to win prices when they ship on key international trade lanes with DHL using the company’s electronic shipping tools.
Customers can take part by registering with the website dhl-chance3.com. For the first phase of the campaign, from now until 31st August, bonus points will be awarded to customers shipping from Japan to the United States. In the second phase, in September and October, bonus points will promote shipping to Southeast Asia and India. In the final phase, bonus points will be awarded to a “surprise” trade lane giving extra chances to win.
Aramex launches Magento shipping and tracking extension
Parcel and logistics firm Aramex has launched a new extension for e-commerce merchants using the Magento website platform.
The company said this week that the “Aramex Shipping and Tracking Extension” allows e-commerce websites to integrate with Aramex shipping services, allowing merchants to process and track Aramex shipments on their own websites.
The new extension is available at Magento Connect.
