Amazon offers Sunday delivery to Amazon Prime members

Amazon has today announced that it will now offer Sunday deliveries on an ongoing basis in a number of cities across the UK. Amazon Prime members, who receive unlimited One-Day Delivery on millions of items, can now receive their packages on a Sunday at no additional charge, making every day an Amazon Prime delivery day. The announcement comes after the service was trialled in London for four weeks in the run up to Christmas.

The offering will be provided via the Amazon Logistics service which operates a number of delivery stations that act as hubs for deliveries in their local area. Amazon Logistics works with regional delivery partners to deliver items directly to customers.

The service will be available in London, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Nottingham, Manchester and Leeds. Customers that select the One-Day Delivery option in these areas can also benefit from Sunday deliveries.

“Delivery on a Sunday means every day is now an Amazon delivery day and that Prime members can enjoy even more convenience when shopping on Amazon,” said Jamie Stephenson, UK Director for Amazon Logistics. “At Amazon, we’re continually innovating on behalf of our customers. We know customers really appreciated the immediacy of Sunday deliveries during the Christmas period and we were able to deliver thousands more parcels in this way in those four weeks. We’re delighted to now offer this service to customers in London, Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Nottingham, Manchester and Leeds.”
