DHL Express to expand presence in Russia through retail alliance

DHL Express has signed a deal to expand its retail presence in Russia through convenience stores run by the “Good News” network. The exclusive partner agreement will see Good News printing stores accepting documents and packages up to 15kg in weight for express delivery through the global DHL network.

The outlets will provide DHL Express customers with shipment preparation services and offer a retail access point to ship items without requiring courier pick-up or a visit to a DHL Express service point.

The partnership launched last week in 11 Good News stores around the Moscow area, but it is to be further developed with more new service points in Moscow airports.

Anna Klinskova, Head of Sales and Marketing at DHL Express Russia, said the partnership with the Good News network was about getting closer to customers.

“Now they have an additional opportunity to send their shipments directly from the business center where they work,” she said.

“Expanding DHL service points network is an obvious result of the growing demand from our customers, as well as our customer centric business approach.”

Alex Aleshin, Business Development Director at Good News, said his company’s goal was to provide the same level of international shipping services through its retail format to which DHL customers are accustomed.

He said: “Providing a range of additional services, including express delivery, is a common practice for many foreign convenience store networks. Exclusive partnership with DHL Express, the global express industry leader, will allow our business to develop in accordance with today’s challenges and requires us to provide a very high level of service quality.”
