Estonia Postal parcel locker network has been further expanded

Omniva (Estonia’s national postal operator) reports that it has expanded its network of automated parcel lockers. Across Estonia there are now six more places where there were previously no parcel machines and eight new locations in cities that already have them. Additionally, 21 machines have been replaced with larger ones. In total, the opportunity to send packages via parcel machines grew by over 3,000 parcel slots and there are now 181 Omniva parcel machines across the Baltics. (Omniva is the new international name of Eesti Post.)

The network needed to be expanded because of an increase in the volume of e-commerce and clients’ need for new parcel machines.

Ansi Arumeel, a member of Omniva’s Management Board, said that the parcel machines are a part of the Omni-channel solution, through which clients are given more options to send and receive deliveries at the right time and place and in the way that is most convenient for them. Parcel machines, couriers and post offices can be used for sending as well as receiving parcels and all of these channels can be combined according to individual needs.

Räpina, Kohila, Tapa, Kiviõli, Paldiski and Kose are communities that have been newly added to the parcel machine network. New parcel machines were also installed in Tallinn, Narva and Kohtla-Järve and existing ones were extended in Jõhvi, Keila, Rakvere, Haapsalu and Viimsi.

Sending a parcel via Omniva is the cheapest way to send a domestic package. What makes receiving the parcel so convenient is that it can be collected at the consumer’s convenience. If  the package is deposited before the evening collection, it will arrive at the parcel machine in the chosen location by eight o’clock on the following morning.

Packages can be sent and received domestically and among the Baltic States. Parcels sent from Estonia will arrive at the Omniva parcel machine in Lithuania or Latvia within two working days. Additionally, it is possible in all the Baltic States to use parcel machines to send packages to other European Union states by using the e-service, whereby the parcel will be delivered by a courier.
