Andy Hill joins My Parcel Delivery as Commercial Director

Andy Hill joins the Trafford Park-based online parcel delivery comparison and logistics business as it enters its latest growth phase. This year the company has doubled sales, received £1.5 million-plus development capital funding and has more than doubled staff numbers across customer service, marketing and IT development. Andy (43), was instrumental as commercial director – alongside former eBay UK boss, Mark Lewis – in the team that developed and launched CollectPlus, the first Pick-Up Drop-Off (PUDO) network in the UK, a service that has transformed the buying experience for many people purchasing online.

For almost 20 years before, he held senior commercial roles with FedEx and Yodel (formerly Home Delivery Network) developing delivery services for major retailers including John Lewis, Tesco, eBay and Amazon. Latterly he worked with delivery management technology business, MetaPack, building carrier partner relationships and helping to develop innovative new services.

At My Parcel Delivery, Andy will be responsible for managing carrier relationships, driving new service initiatives and increasing business volumes.

Andy said: “My career to date in major carrier and logistics companies has involved spearheading major retailer delivery services and forging new and innovative ways of satisfying e-commerce consumers. I’m looking forward to finding fresh ways of giving My Parcel Delivery’s customers the best possible experience and exploring new market opportunities for the company at a time of rapid growth.”

“As I learned in the process of helping to build Home Delivery Network into becoming the UK’s second-largest household delivery company, today’s online consumer expects much more than 9-to-5, weekday deliveries to one location.

“I love My Parcel Delivery’s combination of providing simple, online access to excellent carriers at affordable prices backed with outstanding customer service. I am really excited about getting stuck into the business to help continue its rapid growth and service diversification in the mushrooming e-commerce market. The new 3PL capabilities of the business following its move to a warehousing unit provides a particularly exciting opportunity for me to start work on immediately. ”

David Grimes, My Parcel Delivery’s managing director, said: “Andy’s experience, knowledge and industry connections are enormously important as we move into our next phase of development. To have attracted such a well-respected and accomplished industry professional is testament to the reputation our company is building in the parcel delivery and logistics sector.”
