NetDespatch helps retailers speed up shipping

NetDespatch, the SaaS parcel data management platform for postal and parcel carriers, is collaborating with ChannelAdvisor Corporation (NYSE:ECOM) – a provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions that enable retailers and manufacturers to increase global sales – to offer retailers seamless integration with their chosen postal or parcel carrier. Through this alliance with NetDespatch, ChannelAdvisor retail customers can despatch parcels systematically to leading carriers, such as Royal Mail, Asendia Yodel, APC Overnight, UKMail, Collect+ and more, using a single, integrated solution, helping retailers to simplify operations. This automated approach is particularly beneficial when changes to carrier requirements are made that would require label or product changes.

The ChannelAdvisor platform uses a single inventory feed to offer retailers and manufacturers cloud-based solutions to efficiently automate and manage the online selling process across multiple channels, including third-party marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay.

At regularly scheduled intervals, ChannelAdvisor scans the retailer’s account for orders that are pending shipment. This in turn triggers a call for each order to the NetDespatch API, which automatically books the order with the selected carrier and prints the label and any customs documentation required in the warehouse. The carrier tracking number is then passed back into ChannelAdvisor, and the order is marked as shipped. ChannelAdvisor automatically notifies the marketplace that the order has been shipped, and the marketplace will notify the retailer’s customer.

“By forming a strategic alliance with NetDespatch, an expert in integration technology, we have automated what can be a highly labour-intensive process,” said Hakan Thyr, ChannelAdvisor’s strategic partnerships director. “As a result, the alliance will help reduce the time spent on administrative shipping tasks and offer retailers near-real-time parcel despatch instead.”

“The NetDespatch SaaS platforms provide proven, reliable and scalable solutions to get innovative parcel delivery propositions to market quickly, and then to scale with them,” explained Becky Clark, CEO, NetDespatch. “Integrating with ChannelAdvisor, we have effectively taken away all the complexity of carrier integration and the associated issues to offer a reliable delivery service to retailers which can only boost consumer confidence and subsequently fuel a growth in online shopping.”
