Ocado signs lease on new south west London hub

Online grocery supermarket Ocado has signed a 15-year lease on two units at Stockley Close which it plans to convert into its distribution hub for south west London. Ian Starling, Head of Property and Network Development, Ocado, commented: “As the world’s largest dedicated online grocery supermarket, having quick and direct access to our customers is vital for our business. We want to deliver to our customers the best quality product in the shortest time.

“That’s why the location of Stockley Close is the perfect fit for our business. It will act as a hub to distribute to our customers in South West London and helps us remain at forefront of the e-commerce revolution changing the way we shop, and ultimately, consume goods.”

The Stockley Close site, which is run by SEGRO, is close to the M4 and the M25 motorways, with good access to Heathrow airport.

Other companies on the site include Transport for London and MNX Global Logistics.

SEGRO also recently let a building on Stockley Close to Direct Entry Solutions Limited (D.E.S), the international mail specialist which last month signed an ETOE (extraterritorial office of exchange) agreement with Austrian Post.
