Lithuanian Post looking to drive up work efficiency

Lithuania Post has announced that it is aiming to drive up its work efficiency by 30% through the adoption of innovative “work ethics principles”. In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (29 September), Lithuania Post said that it has committed to a work ethos that is grounded on three important elements: Mąstymas (Thinking), Efektyvumas (Eficiency) and Sėkmė (Success) – or MES, for short. MES is based on the internationally-know LEAN business philosophy, but with a Lithuanian twist.

Lithuania Post started implementing the MES work ethos some time ago, and the postal operator believes that it is seeing positive results.

“We have set a target of increasing work efficiency by 30% in Postal Operations Division Department,” said Rasa Radzevičienė, the Director of the Postal Operations Division. “The key objective of this methodology is to reject activities, which consume employees’ time, energy and knowledge, without producing added value to either the company or to the consumer.”

“Work ethos MES has become inseparable from our daily work. It is being applied by Lithuania Post managers of all areas, who gather every morning to discuss the current day’s results. I have no doubt that Lithuania Post activities’ results, following international management practice, will improve even more, and we will offer to our customers even more effective services.”
