La Redoute selects Temando software to help expand operations in UK and Europe

La Redoute, the French online fashion and home decor retailer, has selected Temando to help modernise its logistics capabilities and “meet customer demand for a fast, simple and sleek delivery and returns service that is in tune with its shoppers’ busy lifestyles”. Temando told Post&Parcel that its multi-carrier software platform will enable La Redoute, which has more than 10 million customers across the world and seven million active users per month, to provide its customers with “a wide range of delivery choices during the checkout process” as well as “an even more convenient returns process”.

Temando’s technology will also help support La Redoute’s new order preparation centre, which the company believes to be the most efficient in Europe.  This improved delivery and collection capability is a major part of La Redoute’s strategy to build on its already excellent customer service levels and implement an intelligent platform that will help the company grow and meet increased demands for its products in the future.

Furthermore, Temando will enable La Redoute to manage all transportation orders and logistics functions from a single cloud-based platform. This includes the preparation, labelling and traceability of each customer order, and coordination with the selected carriers.

“La Redoute is undergoing a major transformation plan – and ensuring the best customer service through improved logistics is one of our major goals of that plan. By mid-2016 our new order fulfilment centre will be the most efficient in Europe in terms of with respect to order fulfilment times, processing and many other capacities. For example, we will be able to ship a package two hours after receiving customer orders and we will have new and improved solutions at every step of the supply chain. Temando’s solution offers us unprecedented flexibility in terms of European carrier choice, scalability and order tracking and tracing capabilities – all of which will enable us to offer the very best customer service,” commented Patrick Fitzner, Logistics Director of La Redoute.

Carl Hartmann, CEO of Temando, added: “This project is important for Temando because it formally marks the launch of our solution in the French and UK markets. It is also an important moment for Neopost S.A, which recently invested $50 Million in Temando.”

The project is currently in the design and production phase with a launch due for early next year.
