PostNL reportedly denies knowledge of any take-over talks

PostNL has reportedly said that it is unaware of any take-over talks being conducted with Royal Mail, despite the speculation in the UK press. A report in the UK-based newspaper Daily Mail claimed that Royal Mail was interested in taking over PostNL in a €5 per share deal.

However, PostNL spokesman Dick Kors was quoted by Reuters as saying earlier today (24 December): “The media report cited ‘hot gossip’, but we know nothing about this.”

Royal Mail has been on the acquisition trail this year, but any deal regarding PostNL would be much bigger than anything it has so far achieved this year.
