Yodel has appointed Mike Cooper as its new chief executive officer. Cooper will officially start in his new role on 1 February.

Prior to joining Yodel, Cooper spent nine years at Arriva, where he was deputy CEO and managing director, overseeing £1bn+ turnover and 30,000 employees.

He also spent five years at easyJet as chief commercial officer, and four years at Thomson Holidays, where he was managing director of the direct sell business.

Commenting on the appointment, Dick Stead, executive chairman of Yodel, said: “Mike has an impressive track record of galvanising people to deliver exceptional results and using consumer insight to drive a great customer experience. He will focus us still further on our ever improving service levels and provide impetus to Yodel’s growth ambitions.
