UPS Freight president Jack Holmes to retire

UPS Freight president Jack Holmes will be retiring on 30 June after 37 years with the company. Holmes, who began his UPS career as a package handler in Philadelphia, also serves as co-chairman of the National Freight Advisory Committee’s (NFAC) Conditions, Performance, and Data Subcommittee, and sits on the board of directors of the American Transportation Research Institute.

“Jack’s contributions to UPS and the trucking industry are immeasurable,” said Myron Gray, president of U.S. operations for UPS. “His strong leadership, deep industry knowledge and professional counsel have educated and inspired countless UPSers and others who have worked with him throughout his career.”

Rich McArdle has been promoted and will assume responsibilities as president of UPS Freight in June.

McArdle began his UPS career in 1982 and took on his current position as Mid-Atlantic District Manager in 2015.
