Swiss Post reports “very high” on-time delivery rates for 2015

Swiss Post has announced that it achieved “very high” on-time delivery rates for letters and parcels in 2015.

In a statement issued today (7 March), the postal operator said that  97.8% of A Mail letters and 98.9% of B Mail letters reached their recipients within the promised period of time. For parcels, 97.5% of both PostPac PRIORITY and PostPac ECONOMY parcels arrived on time. These scores exceed the requirements set by postal legislation.

Over the course of the year, Swiss Post processed around 2.2bn addressed letters and 115m parcels (which was about 3% up on the 2014 parcels total).

Swiss Post added that it is working on the assumption that “online trade will continue to grow by around 1-2% annually over the coming years” – and it is upgrading its parcel centres to cope with the increase.

“Two additional sorting systems – one in the Frauenfeld and one in the Härkingen parcel center – have already been put into operation,” said Swiss Post.

“The expansion of the Daillens parcel centre is expected to be completed by the end of 2016. Thanks to investments totalling around CHF 60m, the centres’ sorting capacities are being increased by around 25%.”
