Zalando ramping up fulfilment capabilities

Zalando has set out how it plans to achieve its “mission” of becoming “the best fulfilment partner for fashion in Europe”. At a Capital Markets Day event held in Berlin on Tuesday (22 March), Zalando’s David Schroder, Christoph Stark and Lisa Miczaika said that the company’s current network enables €5.5bn in revenues, but when its next planned hub facility in Lahr, Germany, comes online later this year, this will expand to €7bn.

During the presentation, the team also discussed the “Fulfillment By Zalando” programme and reported that it is currently running same day delivery pilot projects in the German cities of Berlin, Koln, Dusseldorf and Essen, as well as 60-min pick-ups for returns.
