Rakuten set to test delivery drones

As a first-step, Rakuten will be run a test project in May at a golf course in Chiba. The drones will be used to deliver drinks, snacks and golf balls to golfers while they are out playing the course. The golfers will send in their orders via a smartphone app and the drones will fly out from their clubhouse to satisfy their needs.

Rakuten will then evaluate the results of the golf club project before deciding if  it wants to proceed with home delivery tests.
