Flipkart suspends hyperlocal and C2C delivery services

Indian e-commerce player Flipkart’s logistics arm Ekart has reportedly suspended its hyperlocal and C2C delivery services. The company started its hyperlocal delivery service in Bengaluru in March last year, and its C2C documents and parcel delivery service was launched a couple of months later.

India’s Economic Times said that it received an email from Flipkart, which stated: “Beginning February 5, Ekart no longer operates its customer-to-customer courier service started in 2106, that gave people the option of having documents and parcels packed by Ekart’s delivery boys and shipped to end-addresses.”

Indian media reports added that Ekart has suspended both services as part of a move aimed at “consolidating the service offerings of Ekart, to sharpen its focus on its core business model”.
