Possible job cuts at Toll Group

Australia-based Toll Group could be looking to make redundancies among its office and support staff, according to local sources. Local Australian media reports indicate that Toll Group could be implementing up to 200 redundancies, as the company faces “challenging” market conditions.

Toll’s managing director, Michael Byrne, was quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald as saying: “This is not a move we take lightly. We will fully support employees impacted by these changes, including offering redundancy entitlements, redeployment opportunities where available, and career transition support.”

Toll Group was bought by Japan Post in 2015 in a $6.5bn deal.

Reports indicate that Toll Group management will be holding meetings with union officials over the next few days to discuss possible job losses.
