Royal Mail quarterly targets

Royal Mail has reported that it missed its target for 1st Class post and Special Delivery in the third quarter (Q3) of FY2016-17. However, it did meet regulatory targets for the first three quarters combined, and it is still on target to satisfy the First Class mail target for the whole 2016-17 year. The regulatory target for 1st Class post is for 93.0% of this mail to be delivered the next working day.

Over the three quarters, Royal Mail also exceeded its Second Class mail target of 98.5%, delivering 98.9 per cent of this mail within three working days.

Sue Whalley, Chief Operations Officer, Royal Mail said: “Royal Mail continues to provide a high Quality of Service to our customers. Our postmen and women work extremely hard day-in, day-out to deliver to some of the most demanding Quality of Service standards in Europe.

“We take our Quality of Service requirements very seriously and are focused on continuously improving on the service we offer.”

Royal Mail’s Quality of Service is measured by TNS Global. The latest independent report on performance for the third quarter of the year was published on Friday (17 February) on Royal Mail’s website at:
