Revamped Boeing jet planes set to support Chinese parcel delivery sector

Boeing is reportedly planning to deliver revamped passenger jets that will be used as freight haulers to support China’s parcel delivery sector. According to an article published by Reuters today (23 February), Boeing will have the revamped 737-800 passenger jets ready for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Anbessie Yitbarek, Boeing’s vice president of customer support for Asia Pacific, was quoted as saying: “In emerging markets, led by China, we’ve seen huge demand for freighters from e-commerce and express delivery entities.”

The conversions will reportedly be done at Boeing Shanghai Aviation Services and Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering (STAECO).
