Parcel delivery drones on the horizon in Singapore

Airbus Helicopters has reportedly told local media that it will reveal more details in the coming months about a pilot project for delivering parcels by drone in Singapore. As previously reported by Post&Parcel, Airbus reached an agreement in February 2016 with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore to test a parcel drone delivery service on the campus of the National University of Singapore.

When asked about its plans by Singapore’s Business Times last week, Airbus reportedly replied: “Airbus is heavily involved in studying the future of urban mobility with several projects underway, including the Skyways initiative in Singapore.

“This project is ongoing and we will provide an update on the trial phase in the coming months.”
