Instacart announces major US expansion
Grocery delivery company Instacart has announced that it is significantly expanding its US coverage over the next few weeks. In a statement published on its website yesterday (24 April), Instacart said: “This week we’re bringing Instacart to Detroit, Columbus, Las Vegas, and the Rio Grande Valley area of Texas.
“In the next few weeks, you’ll see us launch new markets and expand our service in states like Texas, Florida, North and South Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee. We’ll also continue to expand to more cities in Michigan and Ohio.
“This is a big step towards achieving our goal of being able to deliver groceries to 80% of US households by 2018.”
Last month, the company announced a $400m Series D financing led by Sequoia Capital.
