UK’s DfT outlines its areas of research interest

The UK’s Department for Transport has today (4 July) published a summary of its areas of research interest.

Initiatives to reduce traffic congestion, encourage the use of greener fuels and stimulate more development of connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) all feature in the document.

According to the DfT, the aims of the document are to:

  • promote DfT’s programme of research among the external research community to grow and diversify the range of partners we work with
  • enable those outside the department already conducting research to align their work with DfT’s interests to deliver research with more impact
  • facilitate partnerships with other funders and those planning research programmes to conduct research collaboratively and efficiently.
