Panther reports 30% growth in turnover
White glove delivery specialist Panther Warehousing has posted a 30% growth in annual turnover to £38m. In a statement sent to Post&Parcel today (8 August), the Northamptonshire-based business added that like-for-like sales so far this year are up by 70%, so it is predicting its next year-end turnover could be £55m and it has its “sights firmly set on achieving a turnover of £100m by 2020”.
Panther attributed the growth to its investment programme and the launch of new offerings. These include its ‘Solo’ one-man delivery service, the introduction of a two-hour delivery window, late cut off times, Sunday deliveries and a Sunday collection service for Monday delivery.
Colin McCarthy, Managing Director of Panther, commented: “This has been an incredible year for Panther and one in which we have enjoyed unbelievable growth as more and more customers have embraced our service offering.
“These record results are a testament to the company’s ongoing commitment to deliver a best in class service and continuous innovation enabling us to stay ahead of the competition.”
Panther added that it has a number of new developments planned for the coming months which include a potential acquisition within the warehousing and storage sector, an investment of £1m in IT and a recruitment drive to expand its 500-strong workforce to 750 employees.
The company also intends to further extend its footprint by increasing its number of depots to 10 by 2018 with plans in place to open a further five depots by 2020. Furthermore, there are plans to invest in new vans.
