Walmart set to offer free same-day delivery in New York

US retailer Walmart will reportedly soon be offering free same-day delivery in the New York City area. Jet.com – the e-retailer that Walmart bought last year – is reported to provide this service already.

According to an article published by Bloomberg, Walmart’s e-commerce chief Marc Lore told delegates at a conference in New York on Wednesday (27 September): “In the New York surrounding area, Jet.com right now is offering free, same-day delivery. And we’ll be doing the same with Walmart very soon.”

Walmart currently offers free two-day shipping for orders of $35 or more.
