WMX Europe in Madrid closes its doors after an inspiring event
Last week WMX Europe, organised by Triangle Management Services, closed its doors after two successful days of idea-sharing and partnerships not to mention all the celebrations at the World Post & Parcel Awards 2024.
Delegates from round the globe heard from inspiring speakers focused on this year’s theme: Shaping the Future of Logistics: Evolving with the Times.
Here is a summary of the two days:

Day 1:

  • Insights directly from our Postal Leaders – post and parcel operators need to show resilience and learn from the past, build new solutions and adapt to the real needs of domestic and cross-border customs.
  • In Conversation with Zonos: Boosting Postal Growth: The Role of DDP – Customers don’t have much confidence ordering a product internationally, so instead they choose a domestic company and a product that they don’t really want. If you create a domestic experience for an international transaction, the customer will be more confident with the purchase.
  • Transforming Posts to Stay Alive – Humans before technology is so important. Delivering technology is pointless if people and processes are not prepared. There needs to be a shift from a pure parcel delivery focus to a more customer-centric approach.
  • Green Logistics: Driving Change for a Greener Future – Climate is a shared responsibility. Our dialogue and conversation with companies across sectors, organisations, and authorities can bring us an insight to do more. La Poste has set an ambitious carbon trajectory and aims to be net-zero by 2040, 10 years before the Paris Agreement.
  • Sustainability Panel Discussion – there is a way forward. In the future, young customers, especially those in Norway, will be willing to pay more for sustainable packaging as it’s their future. It is up to the customers to decide whether they pay or not, but post and parcel operators need to let them have an informed decision.
Day 2:
  • Delivering Value: The Importance of Customer Centricity – Simply providing a returns label is no longer enough. Customers expect faster refunds, longer returns and minimally, they want their expectations met. Segmentation is increasingly important and competitors who exceed expectations, customers will be gone.
  • The Future is Here: Unlocking the True Potential of AI – Quantum technology – a revolutionary field that leverages the strangeness of the quantum world to achieve breakthroughs in computing. Exact applications are still under development, but quantum technology has the potential to revolutionize various industries and scientific advancements.
  • Fuelling Growth and Shaping the Future: Innovation and New Technologies – Being close to the customers is a competitive advantage. Customer loyalty increases by being closest and cheapest delivery service. Remote sensor platforms can receive real-time notifications as soon as a document or package arrives to protect porch piracy theft.

With thanks to our premium sponsors, Correos and Zonos and our support sponsors, Avalara,  CCL, Escher, FB Canada Express, One World Express, PostEurop, RouteSmart and Scurri.
