Royal Mail Group named global leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices
Royal Mail Group has been named as global sustainability leader of the Transportation and Transportation Infrastructure Industry in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. The company achieved the top ranking in both the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Index for the Transportation and Transportation Infrastructure Industry.
The successful ranking follows the company’s first ever submission to the index as a publicly listed company.
Royal Mail Group was the top scoring company, ahead of around 100 other organisations, in the transportation sector. This includes ground-based transportation companies in marine, rail, trucking, freight forwarding, and logistics and infrastructure businesses.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices are based on the assessments by RobecoSAM, a company that specialises in sustainability investing.
The assessment benchmarks companies’ sustainability performance against economic, social and environmental criteria compared with peers from around the world.
Royal Mail Group was assessed on its performance in a number of areas such as social reporting, corporate citizenship and philanthropy, environmental reporting and supply chain management. The review also examined human capital development, labour practice indicators and human rights, risk and crisis management.
