Amazon launches Prime Same Day in London
Amazon.co.uk has launched its Prime Same Day service in the UK, offering Prime members free same-day delivery on one million items. In a statement published on its website today (5 November), Amazon said that the Prime Same Day service is now available in Greater London and parts of Hertfordshire and Berkshire, adding that it will expand into a number of other areas of the UK in the coming months.
Prime members who place an order for same-day delivery by noon, on any day of the week, will receive their delivery between 6pm and 10pm on that same evening.
The service is available to residential addresses within the M25 motorway, as well as AL, HP and SL postcodes.
“We know how important speed of delivery is to our Prime customers and we’ve been continuing to invest in our delivery network to offer even more fast delivery options,” said Christopher North, Managing Director of Amazon.co.uk.
The Same Day service is one of three Amazon Prime delivery options currently offered in the UK.
Amazon’s Prime One Day service -which offers Prime members unlimited one-day delivery on items across all product categories – is available throughout the UK.
The Prime Now service – through which Prime members can arrange free delivery within a choice of two-hour delivery windows between 8am and midnight the same day, or pay £6.99 for deliveries within one hour of ordering – is currently available in selected London and Birmingham postcodes.
