Key facts from UK Mail presentation in Amsterdam by Guy Buswell

5. They are the 4th largest parcel operator in the UK? Do UK Mail intend offering 98% service level as against the current 95% by Royal Mail? They will sort to the 120 mail centres or 1400 delivery centres, collect between 1600 and 1930 and deliver to the centres between 0830 and 12 noon next day.

6. Trials will begin in April.

7. There will be some interesting new joint marketing initiatives with Royal Mail.

8. TPG clearly has a policy of avoidance of access and probably Deutsche Post.

9. They expect to transfer the skills to Europe. Major issues are VAT and size-base pricing.

10. There will be penalty clauses in the contract relationship with Royal Mail.
