German Hermes Logistics Group hits the acquisition trail
Germany’s second largest business-to-consumer package group is looking to drive a 25percent expansion this year, mainly through acquisitions.
Hermes Logistics Group saw revenues of t592m in its fiscal year to February, up 7.6percent on the previous year, while throughput rose 2.3percent to 179m consignments.
It aims to boost throughput by 7.3percent and revenue by 25percent, of which three-quarters will be by acquisitions and the rest by organic growth.
The success last year was due to a wider portfolio and new markets, it said, which included the founding of Hermes Network Distribution last August and the opening of Hermes PaketShops for dropping off parcels.
CEP 11 March: Hermes intends to increase its share of the private parcel market to 10% over the newxt 2 years.
