DHL and SF Holding launch co-branded firm
Global logistics company Deutsche Post DHL Group and SF Holding, the owner of China’s largest private delivery courier company, SF Express, have launched a co-branded, ten-year venture called Shunfeng DHL Supply Chain China.
Post & Parcel reported on the partnership between the two companies last month when Deutsche Post DHL Group concluded a landmark deal to transfer its supply chain operations in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, with SF Holding. As part of this transaction, DPDHL Group received RMB 5.5 billion (~ EUR 700 million), and will continue to receive revenue-based partnership fees for 10 years
Headquartered in Shanghai, the new venture will be led by Zou Yin, former CEO of DHL’s Greater China supply chain business, who is tasked with combining SF Holding’s immense domestic logistics network with DHL’s technology and 30 years of operating experience in China.
“This is a milestone in the development of SF Express from an express delivery company to a supply chain company,” according to SF Holding chairman Wang Wei.
At its start, Shunfeng DHL will reportedly provide logistics services in the fields of high technology, medical, retail, consumer goods, automotive, chemicals, and e-commerce.
