New CEO for DHL Express Italy
Nazzarena Franco has been appointed as CEO for DHL Express Italy – she also joins the European Management Board of DHL Express.
Commenting on the appointment Nazzarena said: “It is a great honour to be appointed CEO for a leading company like DHL Express Italy… our vision is “Connecting People, Improving Lives”; many different stories lie in each single shipment we take care of, while connecting our Customers all over the world.
She explains that her priorities as CEO will focus on supporting business development by creating sustainable policies and the environment. She also plans to focus on the company’s €400 million investment plan to develop operations and infrastructure across Italian territory.
Nazzarena takes over the role from Alberto Nobis, who has become CEO DHL Express Europe. Alberto Nobis drove the Italian business for more than five years, leading the company to the position of first player in Italy in the International express air courier industry.
About Nazzarena Franco
Nazzarena is a Graduate of Economics and Finance, has a Post-Graduate Master Degree in Executive Finance, and in the last five years she served as Head of Strategy, Planning and Investor Relations for Aeroporto G. Marconi di Bologna S.p.A., the company handling operations at Bologna Airport. In this role she drove key business decisions including the expansion of the airport and its business, with 40% volume growth and Ebitda doubling.
Nazzarena has moreover been member of the team that implemented the corporate strategic plan for IPO on the Milan Stock Exchange in 2015. The company’s share value was more than tripled in less than three years.
Since 2009 she has also covered the role of Managing Director and Sole Director of Fast Freight Marconi S.p.A. taking care of its complete turnaround and following development. The company is 100% controlled by Aeroporto G. Marconi di Bologna S.p.A. and it manages the airport’s entire cargo handling operations.
In her previous working experiences she served as Business Analyst in leading International consulting firms. In the last two years she served as Vice Chair of ACI Europe’s Economics Committee.
