Shippit contributes to 101% growth in retailers across APAC region

Retail logistics software platform Shippit which powers the last mile delivery experience for retailers, has partnered with one of Australia’s largest retailers, the Cotton On Group.

The global deal will account for a substantial lift in online transactions powered by the platform across its portfolio of retail brands including Cotton On, Cotton On Body, Cotton On Kids, Factorie and Supre, managed from the Group’s new state-of-the-art warehouse in Avalon, Victoria.

In addition to the Group, Shippit’s retail customers spans all industries and now include Kathmandu, City Beach, The Athlete’s Foot, Tony Bianco, Qantas Loyalty and General Pants. These customer wins have contributed to Shippit’s 101 % growth in retailers using the platform since December 2017, managing logistics for approximately 3% of all online transactions in Australia (up from 1.4 % during peak trading in 2017).

Shippit CEO and co-founder Rob Hango-Zada, comments: “We know that shipping is one of the biggest pain-points holding online retailers back, particularly when it comes to providing outstanding customer experiences. The reality is that this sore point only worsens and creates greater inefficiencies for retailers as they scale. With the rise of the on-demand economy, while customers expect flexible, convenient and affordable delivery options, the market is still playing catch-up.

“Shippit has been able to solve that problem for thousands of retailers, from small “side hustle” eCommerce stores to some of the world’s largest department stores. Comparative data shows the average retailer that uses Shippit grows five times faster than retailers who don’t.”

In line with this growth, Shippit’s team has almost doubled in the last 12 months, filling a new office in the heart of Sydney’s CBD as well as a satellite office in South East Asia, a foothold for what is to come for the company as it continues to scale.

Amongst its latest hires is Chief Revenue Officer, Dan Cran, who held previous executive positions at LogMeIn and ResponSight. Mr Cran is tasked with taking Shippit to market leadership by bringing about a world-class customer experience and accelerating customer expansion; namely improving the end-to-end customer life-cycle, whilst building the company’s international presence.

General Manager of eCommerce at the Cotton On Group, Brendan Sweeney, said: “We are proud to back an Australian business as we scale our service globally. Shippit’s award-winning technology is exactly what we need to ensure we optimise our delivery operations. We are really excited about what lies ahead in this partnership.”

Having raised just over $3 million since its inception, the company has grown from its startup roots to become a widely recognised, promising tech venture.
