DHL named best express operator at AFSCA
DHL was named the Best Express Operator for the 18th consecutive year at the recently held Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards 2004 (AFSCA) in Shanghai, China.
A statement from DHL today said that the company also took three other awards at the event, asserting its leading position in Asia’s freight and distribution services.
The awards were for the Best Logistics Services Provider-Air Freight, Best All Cargo Airline and Best Road Haulier-Asia.
The AFSCA, widely acknowledged as the industry’s most celebrated accolade, seeks to recognise and honour outstanding organisations that have shown leadership in various areas.
DHL is the only company to have won the Best Express Service award since the Asian Freight Industry Awards, the predecessor of the AFSCA was inaugurated in 1987.
The awards follow a series of recent DHL initiatives to strengthen and optimise service offerings in the Asia Pacific.
DHL has made continual frequency and capacity enhancements to its Asian Air Network, which currently comprises 24 destination in 15 countries across Asia served by 19 aircraft, in addition to some 800 commercial flights utilised daily.
