Sustained business growth has led to a number of new management appointments for pallet network operator Pall-Ex, just one year since the company moved its entire operation from Gotham in

(5/19/2004)

Pall-Ex has recruited a number of key professionals in marketing, business development, human resources and operations, to address current business demands and to contribute to the drive towards further expansion.

Two new marketing managers, Tony Mellor and Chris Martin, joined the company this month.

Chris Martin has been appointed as marketing manager, and will concentrate on building an external marketing campaign to raise Pall-Ex’s profile at all levels. He joins the company from a background in marketing consultancy and has recently been working in the City, assessing marketing strategies for a number of clients.

Tony Mellor will take on an internal marketing role, with responsibility for communications within the company and with its growing network of members. His background is in the services sector where he was most recently employed in the insurance industry in a similar environment comprising a membership network providing services to end users.

Both Martin and Mellor will handle the extensive program of events, exhibitions, sponsorship and awards participation that the company undertakes each year.

These appointments follow the recent appointments of Brian Wright and Rob Williamson.

Rob Williamson joined Pall-Ex in April 2004 as regional development manager for the north-east. Williamson has a wealth of experience and is well known in the industry, having previously held sales management roles with Palletways and APC parcel network.

In March, Brian Wright was appointed senior operations manager to meet the growing operational demands of the record throughput of pallets achieved since the new hub opened. He has over twenty years’ experience in the logistics and distribution industry, in a number of operational roles.
