DHL to raise China investment 7.5percent to USD215 mln

DHL Worldwide Express, a unit of Deutsche Post, said it plans to inject a further 15 mln usd in China to build more logistics centers.

The paper quoted Mark Ting, deputy managing director of DHL’s joint venture DHL-Sinotrans, as saying the new funds will raise the company’s total investment in China to 215 mln usd.

Ting said DHL expects the mainland to overtake Japan as the company’s biggest revenue generator in the Asia Pacific within the next two years.

‘The annual growth rate here is between 35 pct and 45 pct. We have not seen such phenomenal growth anywhere else in the world,’ Ting said.
