Spanish competition commission approves La Poste purchase

The Spanish competition commission has authorised the purchase of 12.8 per cent of courier company Seur by French postal service provider La Poste. La Poste, which is owned by the French government, has paid 90m euros for its share in Seur and acquired 60 per cent of the company’s Madrid franchise, the largest branch in the Seur network.

Last year, Seur, which employs 3,957 staff, generated turnover of 499.6m euros, up 9.6 per cent on 2002.
