“As of now, we pick up the parcels from 22 Nestlé and Nestlé-partner locations,” explains Heike Kaufmann, account manager at DHL Express. “The integration of more locations into this network is already on the drawing board. Customer pick-up is kept as uncomplicated as possible – for one, through special dispatch rooms at post offices enabling pick-up outside of office hours. The framework agreement has made handling of parcel shipments simpler, quicker and more secure for all concerned.”
“We needed a strong partner for our domestic dispatch,” says Klaus Peter Brickwedde, head of Supply Chain Management at Nestlé Germany. “Aside from good quality, reliability and an attractive cost to performance ratio, the added value produced for us by DHL was of utmost importance to us in our selection.”
DHS picks up the shipments from Nestlé and its subsidiaries – Nestlé’s third-party service providers are also incorporated into the framework agreement, sending their goods via DHL. According to Brickwedde, it’s ideal for Nestlé to obtain all services from a single source, as it saves the company and its partners huge administrative expense.
