AuthentiDate and Canada Post Partner to create universal Electronic Postmark

AuthentiDate, Inc., a subsidiary of AuthentiDate Holding Corp. (NASDAQ: ADAT), and the technical provider of the United States Postal Service Electronic Postmark® (USPS EPM®), have agreed in principal to partner with Canada Post Corporation to create a universally accepted electronic postmark that will meet the standards of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). As the primary forum for cooperation between postal services around the world, the UPU sets the rules for international mail exchanges and makes recommendations to stimulate growth in mail volume and improve the quality of service for customers. AuthentiDate and Canada Post intend to form a partnership to fully develop the standards-based technology and contract with, Global EPM (GEPM), a newly formed business unit of AuthentiDate to market, sell and deploy an EPM service which can be implemented by postal organizations worldwide.

Working together, AuthentiDate and Canada Post will leverage their joint expertise and resources to create an electronic postmark that can be implemented within countries and for cross-border software applications. The EPM will enable companies and individuals to transact with integrity over the Internet by providing the same level of trust and legal authenticity to electronic content that is commonly associated with physical mail. As a Web-based service, the EPM will enable quick and convenient online verification of content authenticity, provide tamper detection and store evidence of electronic content.

"By teaming with AuthentiDate, Canada Post is excited to help postal services and businesses around the world utilize the best technology to better serve their customers. Canada Post's strong relationship with the postal organizations, our current strategic role in leading the development of the EPM standards, and our international sales ability, will help us work with AuthentiDate to launch a long-awaited service to posts worldwide," said Phil Lemay, EVP Business Development and Information Technology for Canada Post Corporation.

"We're proud to align our proven technology and expertise to create a viable EPM business model with Canada Post's knowledge of universal EPM standards and marketing capabilities. Together, our service will revolutionize how electronic documents are authenticated, protected and transported around the world," said John Botti, Chairman and CEO of AuthentiDate.
