DHL to invest USD40million in Mexico

DHL announced investments of USD40mil to develop its operations in Mexico including infrastructure, maintenance, new systems, and opening of logistics units. The figure doubles the investments made in 2003, while DHL’s 2004 turnover is to increase by 15percent. A strategic agreement with the export-import bank Bancomext would allow it to tap a larger number of small & medium sized exporting companies, adding to the 12,000 corporate customers already on its portfolio. Prospects for 2004 include a 12percent -15percent increase on the packages turnover to 45,000 per day to domestic and international destinations.
