US Postal Service selects Auto-trol Technology’s KONFIG CM
Auto-trol Technology Corporation (Auto-trol), the leader in enterprise configuration management solutions, has announced that the United States Postal Service (USPS) Engineering Department has selected KONFIG CM as its configuration management solution. KONFIG CM will support the USPS efforts to enhance its configuration management (CM) capabilities and implement its CM processes based upon the CMII® methodology.
By choosing Auto-trol’s KONFIG CM, the US Postal Service obtains the highest rated CM tool as certified by the Institute of Configuration Management (www.icmhq.com). Implementing KONFIG CM, provides the USPS the ability to automate existing manual CM processes, maintain equipment configurations and migrate information from several older systems into a single, comprehensive and easy to use solution. In addition, KONFIG CM provides the USPS the ability to integrate with other USPS systems. The USPS will be utilizing KONFIG CM for tasks such as:
* Configuration management on major equipment
* Managing lifecycle of changes/change management
* Data repository
* Secure data access.
According to Robert Pope, USPS Manager for Maintenance Planning & Logistics Policies, KONFIG® CM was chosen because, “Auto-trol’s KONFIG CM provides the USPS a robust and flexible solution that can change and match well with how the USPS is changing. In addition, KONFIG CM fulfilled the requirement for a highly certified CMII® compliant solution. Also, KONFIG CM is the highest rated CMII certified solution available.”
