DHL UAE appoints new Abu Dhabi head office GM
Kuschel takes up his new role following two years as Direct Channel Manager at DHL in Dubai.
“The new head office is a direct response to DHL’s exceptional business growth of 118% in the UAE capital over the last 18-months. Much of this demand has come from major corporate customers asking DHL to fulfil their supply chain logistics challenges,” said David Wild, General Manager, DHL, UAE.
DHL UAE, the Emirates’ leading air express and logistics supplier, has appointed Neil Kuschel as General Manager of its new Dhs 3.5 million Abu Dhabi head office.
“Neil has played a significant part in increasing sales in Dubai and in 2003 was responsible for the highest telesales growth in the region. He has worked throughout the region with DHL for over six years and is more than equipped to ensure this new head office will be an outstanding success.”
DHL’s Abu Dhabi head office is part of a significant investment programme aimed at boosting the logistics leader’s presence in the UAE capital five-fold. The investment programme also includes a new Dhs 1.7 million airside facility at Abu Dhabi International Airport; an express centre in Al Muhairy Mall – the first DHL retail outlet in the UAE; and a Dhs 1.25 million upgrade to DHL’s entire Abu Dhabi fleet.
“We have recently experienced an increase in requests for trucking services from the capital and DHL is planning to add significant new routes in the very near future,” said Wild.
The opening of the new Abu Dhabi head office brings the total number of DHL facilities in the emirate to five. As DHL’s Abu Dhabi General Manager, Kuschel will oversee a team of 43.
“Neil will be an excellent figure head to ensure this operation meets the demand for superior logistics services and will be integral in generating new business,” said Wild.
“The new facility will also enhance DHL’s reputation for being easy to do business with and exceeding customer expectations.”
