NIPOST Plans 48-Hour Mail Delivery

A new lease of life will soon come to subscribers of the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST), nationwide, as the Federal Government has given a fresh mandate to NIPOST to deliver interstate mails within 48 hours.

Area Manager of Osun Territory of NIPOST, Mr Pat Onuekwusi, dropped the hint to newsmen in Osogbo during the 2004 World Postal Day.

According to him, NIPOST valued the quality of service it gives to its numerous customers and this could be achieved through quick delivery of goods and services.

He said the role of the postal services to the people can not be over emphasised, especially in the area of socio-economic and political development of the nation.

Onuekwusi said, “we shall strive to maintain and improve on the delivery target of 24 hours for intra-city, 48 hours intra-state mails and 72 hours maximum for intra-states deliveries.
