FM Logistics expands its capacity in France

FM Logistic has been awarded a contract to provide Unilever with logistics services in France.

Under the agreement, FM Logistic will manage the receipt, warehousing, order fulfillment and co-packing of Unilever’s Personal Care products at its logistics platform in Crépy-en-Valois, about 70 km north of Paris. The contract also involves transporting some of the products on behalf of Unilever.

To better serve Unilever, FM Logistic has expanded its capacity in Crépy-en-Valois by 16,700 square meters for a total area of 116,000 square meters. The site now has 22 extra loading docks and storage room for 25,400 additional pallets.

The Crépy-en-Valois site is already being used by other FM Logistic customers in the beauty care sector. This allows for a more efficient sharing (or pooling) of transport resources between these manufacturers, thereby reducing truck movements and associated emissions.

In addition to warehousing space, the Crépy-en-Valois facility houses large co-packing operations. Pick and place robots have been added to speed up the co-packing operations.

About 200 FM Logistic employees will be dedicated to serving Unilever at Crépy-en-Valois.

FM Logistic employs 2,300 people across 7 logistics platforms in the northern region of France known as Hauts-de-France, out of a total 6,300 employees in the country.

Unilever, one of the world’s largest consumer goods companies, has been a customer of FM Logistic’s since 1996. Their business relationship started in France and has since extended to China (since 2006), Russia (since 2010) and the Czech Republic (since 2011).
