DHL brings innovation to European road freight market with launch of DHL EUROPLUS
DHL has introduced real innovation to the European road express market with the launch of DHL EUROPLUS. This product will bring new levels of service and choice to the market, with door-to-door, day-definite delivery of parcels and pallets across Europe.
The service, which encompasses the delivery of single parcels, multi-parcels and pallets, covers more than 20 European countries and territories and includes a range of features which enable customers to choose the most convenient way to ship their parcels and pallets.
DHL EUROPLUS provides the highest level of visibility for customers in the marketplace. Via track and trace technology, customers can receive up to five separate scans which pinpoint exactly where their shipment is after despatch.
This level of scanning, equivalent to the amount of scanning conducted in the air express market, pushes the boundaries of what is currently available in the road freight industry.
In addition, DHL EUROPLUS offers day-definite delivery, where customers are offered a specific transit time dependent on the destination postal code. This replaces the traditional industry practice of providing a range of transit times according to the destination country.
“DHL EUROPLUS is the first service of its kind offered by DHL”, says Simon Daggett, Product Manager, at DHL. “By simplifying our product portfolio we are offering a truly innovative service and bringing new levels of choice and flexibility to the market. DHL EUROPLUS provides customers with a choice of service dependent on their own requirements of speed, quality and price.”
“We believe DHL EUROPLUS will help strengthen the DHL brand in the European road freight market. By adding this service to our existing offering we are continuing to strengthen our European network whilst retaining our lead as the world`s largest logistics provider.”
Available immediately, DHL EUROPLUS allows customers to ship a maximum weight of 2,500kg per shipment and complements the lighter weight services of DHL`s EUROPACK.
