Datamat consortium wins 54.6m Euro Poste Italiane contract

A consortium led by Italian information and communication technology (ICT) group Datamat has won a 54.6 mln euro (USD70.7 mln), 48-month contract to provide technology infrastructure services to Italian state-owned postal services company Poste Italiane, Datamat said.

IBM Italia, a subsidiary of U.S. IT group IBM, IBM Italia’s unit Sistemi Informativi S.p.A. and Finsiel, the data processing unit of Telecom Italia, are the other parties in the consortium.

Work to the value of 3.3 mln euro (USD4.3 mln) will be placed with Datamat.

Under the contract, the consortium will provide Poste Italiane with hardware, software and special infrastructure technology for financial and operational applications.

Datamat, listed on the the TechStar segment of the Italian stock exchange (Borsa Italiana), is a leading Italian company in providing ICT solutions to banks, finance groups, insurers, telecommunications companies, utilities, and healthcare and public administration structures.
