TNT Express in Czech Republic raises sales, profit in 2004
Czech express delivery service TNT Express increased sales by 30.8 per cent to EUR17.7m (some Kc532m) last year, CEO for the Czech Republic Petr Chvatal told a news conference today.
Gross profit went up by almost 62 per cent to EUR3.3m (some Kc100m), Chvatal said.
The company expects sales to increase to EUR20m (Kc600m) and profit to EUR4m (Kc120m) this year.
Sales on the entire Czech express delivery market amount to an estimated Kc4bn. Around 1.5 million consignments are dispatched annually, with the market growing by around ten per cent a year, Chvatal said.
Leader on the Czech logistics market is DHL with around 45 per cent market share. Number two TNT Express with over 30 per cent is followed by UPS and Fedex.
TNT Express wants to be the Czech market leader in 2009.
TNT Express, a unit of Netherlands’ TPG, focuses on international business to business delivery services. It plans to boost its activities on the domestic market in future.
