Belgian Certipost launches integrated e-communications platform

Belgian electronic bill services provider Certipost launched its new integrated electronic communications (e-communications) platform CertiONE, the company reported on April 8, 2005.

CertiONE is a horizontal platform which integrates Certipost’s existing vertical communications platforms CertiBusiness.Net, JCommerceRetail and MyCertipost. The company corporate clients access CertiONE through a CertiONE account while individual clients access is through a MyCertipost account. CertiONE allows its clients to exchange e-documents with 1,200 companies and 35,000 customers in Europe.

CertiONE has e-billing, e-supply, e-delivery and e-worker applications which connect the client with its customers and suppliers. The e-billing application handles invoice sending and receiving. The e-supply application manages the sending of orders, the receiving and the confirmation of orders, delivery invoices and the verification of the payment. The e-delivery application supports the sending of confidential e-documents and the e-worker application secures the e-documents exchange via rights management.

Belgian telecommunications company Belgacom has already recoursed to CertiONE in order to push the automation of its e-communications with its 1,400 suppliers. Belgacom sends 100,000 electronic orders for 750 mln euro (USD969.5 mln) annually. Currently the share of its electronic invoice activities is 25 pct.

Certipost was established in 2002 as a 50/50 joint venture between Belgacom and Belgian postal services provider De Post-La Poste. Certipost partners include Belgian information and telecommunications services company anaXis and German business software solutions provider SAP AG.
