Swedish NCC Signs Logistics Services Agreement with DHL
Swedish construction and real estate management group NCC has signed an agreement with German express mail delivery group DHL, a subsidiary of postal operator Deutsche Post, on the provision of logistics services, it was reported on May 18, 2005.
The value of the deal was not disclosed. The agreement includes the transportation of construction materials as well as express delivery of documents.
The agreement will help NCC further reduce construction costs. Sweden is considered a country with high construction costs and the advantages of the contract with DHL will help NCC work against that trend, Kent Eriksson at NCC said.
The agreement is very important to DHL as it has the potential to develop into a wider co-operation between DHL and NCC in all Nordic countries, Lars Sundman, CEO of DHL’s Swedish subsidiary DHL Express, said.
NCC (www.ncc.se) is one of the leading construction groups in the Nordic region with 22,000 employees and a turnover of 45 bln Swedish crowns (USD6.2 bln/4.9 bln euro) for 2004.
